Retirement news
Zena Palmer, who many parents and children will know as a playleader and lunchtime supervisor as well as champion costume maker and display putter upper, has decided to retire at half term after 27 years at our school. She will be greatly missed in all her roles but is going to enjoy a well earned rest and a holiday to Australia.
If any families would like to contribute to a collection for Zena, please send contributions and any messages to the office.
Foodbank Collection
A big ‘Thankyou’ for sending in your many donations of canned food for the Foodbank Charity. They will no doubt help a lot of families experiencing difficulties at this time.
Sky Blues Tickets
We are taking part in the Coventry City FC ‘Tickets for Schools’ scheme. It is for the home match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday 15th October 2011 at 3.00pm. Your child should have brought home a flyer with all the details and an application form. If you wish to take part, forms and money must be returned to the school office by Thursday 6th October. Each ticket sold raises money for the school. If you would like to support our local team contact the office for further information and/or an application form.
SKY BLUE ARMY!
Player Visit
Years 5 and 6 had a visit from CCFC player Lukas Jutkiewicz yesterday. There was a question and answer session where the children were able to find out all about him. The children thoroughly enjoyed it – as well as a number of staff!!
Sky Blues in the Community
The Sky Blues are running holiday activities during October half-term – 24th-28th October. They are held at various venues. If you would like further information please contact the school office or email: sbitc@ccfc.co.uk or telephone 02476 786349.
Secondary Admissions
If you have a child who will be starting at secondary school in September 2012 please register them as soon as possible. The deadline for receipt of applications is 31st October. You can apply online. Contact Secondary Admissions on 02476 831577 for more information.
Primary Admissions
Children born between 1 September 2000 and 31 August 2001 are due to start school next September. You must apply even if you have an older child in school already. The closing date for applications is 15 January 2012. You can apply online. If you need further information please contact Primary Admissions on 02476 831622.
Open Day
We have an Open Day on Tuesday 4th October for prospective parents. There will be a short talk at 9.30am and 1.15pm followed by a guided tour. If you know of anyone who may be interested please let them know.
Parents Evening
You will be receiving notification this week explaining our new booking procedures for parents evening on 18th and 19th October. Appointments will now be coordinated by the admin team and appointments can be made in person at the office or by telephone (02476 672917) or email to admin@earlsdon.coventry.sch.uk.
